Tony was an ultimate athlete who graduated GHS in 1985 and signed to play not only 1 but 2 sports for The University Of Texas in Austin. He played football and ran track for the Longhorns and became a highly decorated athlete while there.
He was a 2-time University Of Texas All-Time All-American athlete in the 400m relay (in 1987 and also 1988).
In the 1987 SWC Championships he earned the #1 spot on UT's Top 10 Longhorn Performers when he posted a 20.28 200m run that wiped out his competition. He also secured the #1 spot on UT's Top 10 Longhorn Performances. He holds the records still today.
His reputation in Longhorn football is by no means dimmed by his track statistics. He lettered all 3 seasons that he played football for UT (1987,1988,1989) and in 1988 he was named #1 Wide Receiver in the SWC averaging 20 yards per reception.
After college he went to the NFL draft where he was the 6th round pick for the Houston Oilers. During his professional football career he played for the Oilers, the Atlanta Falcons and the Arizona Cardinals.
