Message From The Superintendent

December 12, 2006

Ho! Ho! Ho!  It’s almost Christmas and I know everyone is excited. I know that I am. The Christmas season is my favorite time of the year. I hope all the students, teachers, staff and employees of Grapeland ISD have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I wish the same for all the community of Grapeland. Let’s all take time to remember the reason for the season.

In school news, our construction continues. Loads of steel will be delivered this week and there should be a big change by the time we return from the holidays. The new tennis courts will be completed during the holidays.

Basketball season is in full swing. The Sandies will play in the Lovelady Tournament during the holidays and the Sandiettes will host their annual Sandiette Classic on December 27-29.

Jr. high students took a field trip to Medieval Times and all seemed to have a great time. Thanks to Mr. Young and his staff for their hard work putting that educational trip together.

Students throughout the district from elementary, junior high, and high school are preparing and participating in many U.I.L. contests. Good luck to all of you and thanks to the sponsors for their extra work.

Grapeland Elementary held a Practical Parent Education Program. Also, Santa came to visit and had pictures made.

Once again, Merry Christmas to everyone. Have a great holiday with lots of fun!

It’s a great day to be a Sandie!!
