Message From The Superintendent

Thanksgiving is fast approaching and as I compose this message I know that I have much to be thankful for. The good Lord has blessed me with a wonderful family, great friends, a caring community in which to live, and a job I love to come to each day.  We all should be thankful for the country we live in and the freedoms we enjoy but take for granted. I’m thankful to be a part of Grapeland ISD filled with dedicated teachers, administrators, board members, and staff and the greatest students anywhere. Stop, think, and be thankful for all that each of  you have.

In other news, how about those Sandiettes and Sandies! The Sandiette volleyball team won the district championship and had a great season. Congratulations to the coaches and players.

The Sandie football team has had a very good season and will play in the Area game on Saturday, Nov. 25 at Lufkin. Good luck to the coaches and players.

The Gates Awards were presented to junior high students again last week for their efforts. Good job winners! A special thanks to Vickie and Tom Gates for sponsoring these awards and taking such a caring interest in our students.

Grapeland Elementary had their annual hot dog supper and Basket Auction sponsored by the Elementary P.T.A.  It was a huge success and a special thanks to all who supported this event.

FFA students recently participated in district and area competition and they continue to bring home awards. These students do a great job representing our school.

Construction is moving at a good pace on the new high school and the new tennis courts have been poured. Sandie pride continues to grow.

Congratulations to the new Beta Club inductees. Great job!

It’s a great day to be a Sandie!!
