Bacterial Meningitis Senate Bill 31 requires public schools to provide students and their families with information about bacterial meningitis, its symptoms, and what to do if a student is diagnosed with the disease. The Texas Department of Health stresses that bacterial meningitis is not a widespread problem in public schools. The population most at risk for contracting bacterial meningitis is college freshmen living in dormitories. |
Conflict of Interest On May 23, 2005, the Texas Senate passed House Bill No. 914, adding Chapter 176 to the Local Government Code, and imposing new disclosure and reporting obligations on vendors and potential vendors to local government entities beginning on January 1, 2006. This includes School Districts. |
