On May 10, 2007 the Board of Trustees of the Grapeland Independent School District met in special session at 6:02 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by Board President, James Anderson.

James Anderson, President, opened the meeting with anyone wishing to speak in public forum. 

Mr. Jim Thorpe addressed the board regarding the hiring of the Athletic Director.

Jeff Gayle addressed the board regarding the hiring of a head coach and uniting the community.

James Ingle addressed the board making a recommendation to hire Davy DuBose.

W. Arland Brown complimented the Board of Trustees.

The board went into executive session at 6:26 P.M.

The board reconvened into regular session at 8:40 P.M.

Motion made by Paul Oliver, seconded by Rickey Walker to hire Davy DuBose as Athletic Director/Head Coach, pending salary agreement.  Motion passed.

The board took a short recess at 8:41 P.M.

Mr. Sumrall contacted Mr. DuBose by phone.  Mr. DuBose turned down the offer by the Board of Trustees. 

The board went back into executive session at 8:42 P.M.

The board reconvened into regular session at 8:47 P.M.

Motion made by Mitchell Huff, seconded by Eddie Childress to hire Curt Faigle as Athletic Director/Head Coach.  Motion passed.

Motion made by Eddie Childress, seconded by Rickey Walker to adjourn the meeting at 8:52 P.M.  Motion passed.
